USPUK Digital Impact

USPUK’s digital presence is targeted, sophisticated and wide-ranging, operating a variety of accounts across different social media platforms and with multimedia content and languages tailored to our target audiences.

USPUK’s Twitter (X), LinkedIn and Facebook accounts provide content in English to an audience of the general public, potential partners and prospective sponsors.

Our Afghan-facing social media, Instagram and WhatsApp, has engaged a community of the target demographic (Afghans living in the UK) and provides content in Dari and Pashto tailored to their specific needs.

By far the greatest impact of USPUK’s digital presence has been that of our Ukrainian-language accounts on Instagram, Telegram, Facebook and YouTube; our accounts have seen substantial engagement from the target audience.

Our impact in the digital space extends from providing general updates on our work, events with which we are involved and our achievements, to highlighting current and ongoing needs, to speaking directly with Afghans and Ukrainians on WhatsApp and Telegram to answer their questions and provide advice on a more personal level. USPUK’s digital presence helps to deliver USPUK’s mission of providing support, assistance and information to refugee and displaced communities.

Communities for Ukraine (USPUK and CitizensUK)

The Communities for Ukraine programme is a joint initiative between USPUK and Citizens UK. Both organisations have been awarded ‘Recognised Provider’ status by the UK Government to match displaced Ukrainians with prospective hosts under the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

Afghan Resettlement Project (USPUK x More in Common)

USPUK has developed resettlement support for Afghans under the ACRS and ARAP schemes who arrived in the UK after the Taliban takeover. Drawing from our experience resettling Ukrainians, we recognise the crucial nature of building trust with those we support. Employing Afghans for the USPUK project enabled us to swiftly establish strong networks within the community.
