Afghan Community Newsletter - August 2025

Dear Afghan Community and Friends,

We hope this newsletter finds you and your families well and enjoying the summer. Here are some of the latest updates:

ARAP & ACRS Pathway Update

We know many of you have heard the recent news. The UK Government has now closed ARAP and ACRS Pathway to new applications.

We understand this may be worrying. If you or your family applied before the closure, your case should still be processed.

Our support remains available for those already in the UK and those still waiting to arrive. We will continue to share updates as we receive them.

You are not alone.

Data Breach Information

The Defence Secretary has announced a data breach in the Ministry of Defence (MOD) that may affect people who applied for the ARAP or Ex-Gratia (EGS) scheme before 7 January 2022.

The MOD has contacted those affected. If you received a message about the breach, please follow the instructions. If you have not been contacted but are concerned, you can visit the following link for more information and to check if you are affected: https://afg-self-checker.service.mod.gov.uk/

New Information Packs Available

As we move forward, we want to highlight some useful resources now available on our website. These include updated information packs on Specified Adult Childcare Credits and Data Protection, which may be helpful to you or your family.

We wish you and your loved ones a lovely and restful summer break. Please remember we are here throughout the summer if you need help or advice.
