USPUK Newsletter - July 2025

Here is what USPUK charity we’re been up to so far this summer:

Drop-In Sessions in Office Now Available

Need support or advice?

Join our free drop-in sessions – we're here to help Ukrainians and Afghans in the UK navigate housing, visas, and more.

We are already giving more than 500 online consultations a month, so hopefully we can cover even more by one-to-one live sessions.

Nadiia’s Fundraising Walk Continues!

Our amazing colleague Nadiia is still raising vital funds for displaced children seeking safety in the UK.

She has reached £570 in donations in two weeks and is still moving towards her goal of £5000!

Please donate or spread a word on her campaign.

Afghan Resettlement Support

“On 1 July 2025, the UK Government issued a statement. The Afghan Resettlement Programme (ARP) has now formally closed to new principal applicants.

This includes the Afghan Relocations, Assistance Policy (ARAP) and the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS).

No new applicants will be accepted into the schemes. Existing applications will still be processed by the Home Office.

Eligible applicants can still bring immediate family members (spouse and children under 18).

Eligible applicants have 30 days to apply for additional family members.

“So far, over 34,000 Afghans have relocated to the UK and started rebuilding their lives in this country. This is an incredible achievement.” - UK Government, 1 July 2025

We’re working closely with Afghan families navigating complex immigration routes. Read how we’re helping – and what still needs to change.

Update: Ukraine Visa Schemes

A new report from the University of Birmingham shows growing concerns among Ukrainians in the UK.

With no clear path to Settled status or IRL, uncertainty remains high.
