Background
Ali, a refugee who has been living in the UK for two years, recently began living with his family. As he settled into this new phase, he started focusing on his financial stability and saving for his family’s future. He has been a service user of USPUK for the past few months.
USPUK’s Role
While browsing our website, Ali came across information about the Help to Save scheme - a government programme that provides a £25 bonus for every £50 saved. He got in touch for support, and we provided clear guidance and helped him apply. Ali has now successfully opened a Help to Save account for himself and his family, giving him access to savings support that can make a real difference.
At USPUK, we work to ensure that displaced individuals have access to practical tools and information that support long-term financial wellbeing.
Ongoing Support
We remain available to support Ali with any future needs, including upcoming workshops or sessions around financial literacy, budgeting, or resettlement.
Impact
Schemes like Help to Save offer vital support for refugees to build confidence and stability in their new lives. Understanding how to save and manage money in the UK is a key part of integration. We are happy to have had a role in supporting Ali on this journey.
Information Packs from USPUK
