I want to sponsor a Ukrainian guest — what should I do?

Thank you for your interest in supporting displaced Ukrainians through the Homes for Ukraine scheme. At USPUK, we make the process of becoming a sponsor as clear and supportive as possible.

Here’s what to do:

1. Fill out our Hosting Form

Start by completing our [hosting form], where you’ll provide basic details about your home, household, and availability. You'll also agree to our terms and conditions for hosting.

2. Join an Introductory Call

Once we receive your form, we’ll schedule a video call with you. This allows us to:

  • Get to know you and your motivation for hosting

  • Discuss the sponsorship process

  • Answer any questions you may have

  • Virtually view your accommodation (or you can send photos)

3. Provide a Character Reference

Before we can approve you, you’ll need to submit a character reference via email from someone who can vouch for your suitability to host vulnerable individuals. We’ll explain how during the call.

4. Attend a Matching Call

If you're approved, we’ll send you the details of a potential guest (or family). If both sides are interested, we’ll arrange a virtual introduction via video call — with a Ukrainian-speaking team member available to help translate if needed.

5. Confirm and Move Forward

After the matching call, if you and the guest are both happy to proceed:

  • USPUK supports with the visa application

  • We guide both parties through travel and relocation planning

  • We stay in touch after arrival for advice and signposting if needed

USPUK ia a recognised provider under the UK Government’s Homes for Ukraine Visa Scheme, USPUK continues to support safe and appropriate sponsorship matches for displaced Ukrainians.
