USPUK Christmas Appeal: Support Displaced Families

Donate

Aim - USPUK aims to raise funds to support displaced Ukrainian families with children escape the danger as every child deserves to be safe.

As we come to the end of another difficult year for Ukraine, we are launching an urgent Christmas fundraiser to secure the future of Communities for Ukraine — the UK’s only lived-experience-led matching project that supports safe, sustainable hosting placements for Ukrainians fleeing the war under completely legal route - a Homes for Ukraine visa scheme.

At the same time, generous UK hosts continue to open their homes, offering warmth, stability, and hope. But without proper support, safe matching becomes impossible.

That’s where USPUK comes in — and why we urgently need your help.

Why we are asking for your support

We are aiming to raise £10,000 — the minimum amount we need to continue this life-saving work in 2026.

This funding keeps our small but dedicated team running our matching programme, ensuring that every placement is:

✔ Safe — following safeguarding standards and full case verification
✔ Sustainable — with ongoing support for both guests and hosts
✔ Trauma-informed — led by Ukrainians and professionals who understand displacement firsthand
✔ Impactful — prioritising families and children in urgent danger

This winter, the need is greater than ever.

In recent weeks, Ternopil — previously considered one of the safest regions in western Ukraine — has been devastated by missile attacks. There is no longer any “safe” part of the country. Families are once again packing emergency bags, sheltering in corridors, and desperately searching for a way to get their children to safety.
