Before leaving Afghanistan, he worked in a military role that placed him at significant personal risk and suffered serious injuries as a result. Following the fall of Kabul, he was resettled in the UK and began the difficult process of rebuilding his life in a new country.

Before being evacuated to the UK following the fall of Kabul, he worked in the media in Afghanistan. We first connected with him in 2023 when he kindly contributed to one of our community surveys. Since then, he has remained an active member of our community, accessing our services and guidance whenever support has been needed.

The family spent more than two years living in temporary hotel accommodation, which affected both the children's education and the family's wellbeing. USPUK has supported the family since 2024 throughout different stages of their resettlement journey.
