Become a Sponsor and help a displaced Ukrainian

The role of a sponsor is to provide a safe and welcoming home for Ukrainians who have been displaced by war. Sponsors commit to hosting guests for a minimum of six months, offering support as they settle into life in the UK.

USPUK is an officially recognised organisation facilitating the matching process between Ukrainians seeking safety and hosts in the UK. As of 2025, hundreds of Ukrainians are still in urgent need of a sponsor.

Become a host

How it works

If you are interested in becoming a host, please fill out our hosting form to express your interest. The form asks you to provide some basic details about your household and the accommodation you are offering to potential guests. It also asks you to agree to our terms and conditions for hosting.
After you have filled out the form, we will arrange an introductory call to meet you and discuss the sponsorship process. This call will involve further questions to assess your suitability as a sponsor for vulnerable, displaced people, and will also be an opportunity for you to find out more about our process. We are happy to answer any and all questions or concerns! These calls are over video so that you can give us a virtual tour of the accommodation you are offering to guests. If that is not possible, you can send us photographs instead.
Before we can approve you as a sponsor, we will need you to provide a character reference via email that vouches for your good character and suitability to host displaced Ukrainians. Further details about the references will be provided on the hosting form and during the introductory call.
Once you have had your introductory call and provided your character reference, we will identify suitable potential guests for you and will send you their details via email. If you are interested in meeting them virtually (and they also agree to meet you), we organise a video call in which you can meet your potential guests. Ukrainian-speaking team members will be present to translate if necessary. This call is designed to facilitate a conversation between sponsor and guest and allow you to speak to one another and get to know each other a bit.
After the matching call, we will ask you and your potential guests if you are happy to proceed with the sponsorship. If you both agree, we will facilitate the guests’ visa application and support both you and them in their relocation to the UK. We will remain in touch with both you and your guest after they have arrived in order to provide further advice and assistance if necessary.
